As a part of its recent update, Truecaller,
on Thursday, has announced a new Call Me Back (CMB) feature through
which users will get a pop up notification prompting them to call again
or ask the receiver to call back . As of now, the feature is only
available for the Android users.
In order to use this new feature, users need to update the application to the latest version 7.82. The feature ensures that at any given point of time, when one user tries to reach another user from their Android smartphone and gets to see if the person they had called is either busy, non-reachable or the call is getting rejected for some reason, there is a suitable and smart alternative to close that call positively in very immediate future, read the press release.
The working of the CMB feature is pretty simple and is divided into two scenarios. In the first situation, if a Truecaller user is unable to make a call to another Truecaller due to below said conditions
1. Call gets disconnected
2. Call is rejected by the receiver
3. Call Failed - which means call never happened due to network failure or any other reason and the call duration is "zero"
4. And, more importantly, the call receiver who in this case is a Truecaller user should have their "last seen" in the past 24 hours
Then users will be presented with two options: Ask to Call Back and Call Again. If the user chooses the first option, then a push notification will be sent to the receiver which will appear on their Truecaller notification section. On the other hand, if the user chooses Call Again option then the call is put through to the intended receiver again.
In the second scenario, where the reciever is either busy or on a call, then the call me back feature prompts the caller with a pop-up notification with two options:
1. Ask to call back
2. Call anyway
When the caller chooses the Ask to call back, similar to the above mentioned scenario, a notification will be sent to the receiver informing them to call back. However, when a caller clicks on click Call Anyway option, then he/she can still try to make calls to reach the user who might either be busy in another call or his mobile is inactive.
