Asus rolls out Android 7.0 Nougat update Zenfone 3

Asus has finally rolled out the latest Android Nougat update for its Zenfone 3 smartphones. The update is currently rolling out the Zenfone 3 smartphones in Philippines only but we expect it to be available in other countries including India soon. The update is rolled out to the ZE520KL and ZE552KL models of the smartphone.

To recall, the Asus Zenfone 3 was launched in India last year. The smartphone 3 comes in gold, black, and white colours options. As far as specs are concerned, it has Corning Gorilla Glass coating on both front and back panels while an aluminium frame protects its internals. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 625 processor and sports a 16-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front camera. The phone comes in two variants - Asus Zenfone 3 (ZE520KL) with a 5.2-inch full HD display, 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal memory and a 2650 mAh battery, while the Asus Zenfone 3 (ZE552KL) has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD full HD display, a 3000 mAh battery, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory. Both the versions have a fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C port, expandable storage slot, MiMO WiFi, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou and Android Marshmallow operating system.

The Android Nougat brings a bunch of new features including split-screen multitasking, more customisable quick settings, better battery life, improved Google keyboard, enhanced notifications and recent applications window. Further, the latest Android OS version also brings Double Tap' on the Recent button through which one can switch between the two most recent apps (a handy feature indeed!). For extended battery life, Android Nougat comes with 'Doze on the go' which will get activated even if your Nougat-running device is in your pocket.
